Our History

 

     Established in 1984 Alex's is a family owned business that maintains a dying art, much like quilting, knitting, and doll making. Invisible French re-weaving has been passed down with passion and pride, as our trade allows us to fix articles of clothing that hold monetary, as well sentimental value for many of our customers.

     Two generations later, Alex's is alive and well, thriving in its original location on Pico boulevard where the magic all began.

Our Expertise

 

     Re-weaving is the meticulous art of weaving material, often thread by thread, back into the garment to virtually erase any prior damage. Using specialized needles and glasses, we can spend hours on one article of clothing to perfectly renovate a broken chain or pattern.

     In addition to working on suits, we have mastered nearly all knit patterns and sizes of chain; allowing us to bring back to life that sweater you thought lost.

Our Commitment

     Although we can work miracles, Alex's does not always promise a 100% improvement. Often our work is next to invisible, but most often our clients see a recovery of 90 to 95% in their garments.
